The begining. I saw this idea in the internet, so the orginal idea isn't mine. But I just happend to have small piece of plexi in storrage, so I wanted to try to make my own booklamp.

alt

To shape the plexi I tried all kind of operations, but the oven was the most effective... So I made this "structure" to help the modification of the plexi.

alt

While modifying the plexi I accidental broke it :/ But I glued it back together and the result you can see in the finnishd prototype...

alt

Plexi on plase. Sides made from flywood, backside and bottom from chipboard.

alt

Stikker for the name of the book...

alt

Letters on place...

alt

Some electricstuff to put in the book...

alt

Lamp on place... 21w energysaver (equals to 100w)...

alt

Everything on plase...

alt

Ligth my life :D

alt

Here you can see it lighten. As also the cracked part...

28.02.2008 21:45 alfonsthat's good idea but the 'execution' sucks imo
06.02.2008 02:46 GSXYou really need a heatgun... very nice none the less.
29.01.2008 23:44 rikhardoThat would be so good without that crack : < 4 points still : P
29.01.2008 23:22 THMcopy paste :D Couple hints: if possible buy already white plexiglass, if not possible use as thin layer of paint as possible...
29.01.2008 13:11 LcdloNice, too bad that cracking. Luckily i have some polycarbonate pieces somewhere. This is definatelly worth of copying.
29.01.2008 12:55 JapalaI like this a lot. I might try this myself too...
28.01.2008 22:36 THMSticker printed, by my litlle brother...
28.01.2008 19:26 YarikoIs that sticker printed or did you cut the letters from black paper?
27.01.2008 16:03 THMits 21W energysaver which equals to 100W normal lamp, and it's not "overkill" 'cause the paint layer is so thik that there needs to be a bright lamp to pass it.
27.01.2008 15:36 klrp100W near wood..
27.01.2008 13:56 JipaCool :) Do you think that lamp is really required? 100 W seems kinda overkill for such use..
