So i thought that that Nokia digibox would look a little dull on the tv. Luckily i had one nes case laying around. So to fool the television license inspector; lets combine these two!
Size difference
Dismantling the digibox was easy, no screws at all. Its going to fit i think!
Nes front switches and the power led. This is gonna be pretty straightforward. Nothing to do but to solder the powerbutton wires to the power connector so that the whole thing can be turned off completely. Oh and also take the old led off and solder the Nokia's own dual color led in it's place.
Powerbutton and led modding done, worked at this point.
And a nice little hole for the IR receiver!
backside holes cut, needs a little trimming. More to come, i think i burned out the IR receiver since it's not taking any commands from the remote, at least i hope it's just the receiver that's broken. That's what you get when you buy an soldering iron from Lidl for 10 euros! So i bought a more powerful soldering iron and i got the thing soldered together without burining the sensor.
Oh my god that looks just so wrong! a Scart violating nes' behind!
Still, despite the SCART it's quite stealthy! The Nokia box has an RF modulator so it could be connected with just an antenna cable, but it is prone to some interference. This would go nice with some 30 year old TV. Remove this ad by registering or by logging in. Login with your Facebook account to comment:
